MARKET STALL APPLICATION

Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Ending HIV Big Gay Out 2022 which is scheduled for Sunday 13th February from 12pm to 7pm.

Due to the Big Gay Out’s rapid growth in the past couple of years and the learnings we’ve taken from past events and attendee feedback, we need to make some changes.

Our biggest priorities are making a safe, accessible and fun day for our communities, this means giving people more room to move about, better access to more food options, and more bathrooms.

2022 is also a special year, as we have two very exciting studies taking place on the big day - Improving blood safety and donor selection study and the HIV behavioural surveillance survey. This means we need to shrink down the marketplace to make sure this study has enough space to meet and speak to as many participants as possible.

To be able to do this, we need to prioritise applications of stalls. If you belong to one of the following groups, please complete the application at the link below to register your interest, and we'll be in touch to confirm your spot.

Registrations are open for:

  • Food & Beverage vendors (FULL -- Complete registration to join the waitlist)

  • Charities and community groups

  • Health organisations

  • Small & local retailers

  • Education providers

FAQS

Why is the study getting more room?

This is a landmark study and the New Zealand AIDS Foundation has been fiercely advocating for the behavioural surveillance component of the research for a number of years. In order to do the best job we can for our communities, we need access to up to date information about knowledge, attitudes and behaviours around HIV. This study will have a large research team in the park on the day and hopes to recruit more than 1000 participants. This obviously requires a significant amount of space.

Why these categories only?

To align with the priorities of the event being a fun day of celebration, a safe place for the LGBTQIA+ community to be themselves, and to enhance the health and wellbeing of the community

What can I do if I want to support BGO but am not listed above?

If you’re still interested in being a part of the Big Gay Out, but don’t see yourself in the list above, please reach out to us about partnership opportunities here. Partnerships come in all shapes and sizes, it could be activating your brand in the main stage entertainment area, or could look like sponsoring a particular area of the event or service, you’ll make a much bigger impact than simply having a stall.
